Day Three: E is for Envy
Defined by the dictionary: a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.
Prayer time focus: my areas of discontentment or envy.
God: the ruler of my world
Proverbs 23:17 “Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD.
Proverbs 14:30 “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”
Practical: On a piece of paper, draw a “tent” like the one below. On the outside of the tent put any items from your list that show a discontented or envious heart. On the tent the opposite kind of heart God wants you to have in these areas.
Prayer time focus: Pray about getting rid of the areas of envy you wrote down. Then focus your prayer on developing the “conTENTment” items you wrote on your tent.
